Baby

We had a beautiful little boy on Monday, February 1st. He's keeping us crazy busy...well, between him and Clair, we're pretty busy anyways!

The birth went well and he came pretty smoothly out into the world. My recovery has been quicker than I expected. Ricky's been off work since little Ricky was born and has been such an amazing help to me. Not quite sure what I'll do when he goes back to work.

Almost there

This is my big belly waiting in the lobby of my Obgyn. I am one weekish out from my due date and so far so good. I really thought I'd go into labor sometime this week but no such luck. It's ok though because I know it's good for the baby to be inside as long as possible. I am getting ready to start our new adventure!

Back in school

Ricky's back in school so he spends most of his mornings wrapped up with a "good book". Actually, he really has been enjoying his classes and the nighttime schedule he's on allows him several hours to study each morning. Here's to the hopeful graduation date of December 2010!! He's taking 3 classes this semester.

Football is so fun

So Ricky Shane and Cody went on Saturday to play football in the park. I'm really glad they went and Ricky's team won, which is always good....but now Ricky's ankle looks like:

Cody's Birthday

Happy 18th birthday to Cody!!


The scene around our house has looked fairly similar to the above picture for the past few days. Shane came out from Dallas to surprise Cody for his big day and they have managed to play video games for hours, play football (two of them got hurt), play risk, and generally hang out non-stop since Thursday. We even let Cody take Friday off school after his first class (shhhh...)






On Friday night we had the Hooks over and Tyler came on down and we ate massive amounts of brisket and beans--I got a great ranch style beans recipe if anyone's interested--and chips with soda. Good Texas meal. Not too bad for you, either...atleast this is what I tell myself. Then we had ice cream cake. I love ice cream cake and, fortunately for me, so does Cody!

Clair bears 1st birthday

I forgot to post from Ricky's birthday. Ricky has his birthday on the 2nd and we always try to celebrate it with some kind of a party. This year we had an open house and I've come to the conclusion that open houses are brilliant and we will do one again next year. Besides it just being crazy to set up for and clean up from, it was mostly perfect watching everyone come to say Happy Birthday to Ricky!!
