In the city

I love San Francisco and am so glad we had the opportunity to come up and see my brother...because I love him too!

Victoria took us to this really cool hiking spot that she has discovered by the apartment.

And then we met up with Hamilton and ate dinner at the stinking rose and dessert at ghiradelli square. We're such tourists, but I love it!

Than this morning Ricky left :( to go back to work

Happenings

This past week we had a fun small group dinner with our friends and a little birthday party for Nate. He was 'already four' on Sunday!

I have enjoyed so much getting to know our new small group friends. Sometimes after college, real friends can be hard to come by. It's one of the reasons I love the blogging world. But, over the last two years God has really blessed us with true friendships through our church...and I am so grateful!

Kendra and Matt made famous fish tacos--sooo good!

Nate and Sophia played with little plastic animals in te office along with whatever grownup would join them! Love these kids.

Nate's bday was Sunday. He announced before his party that he was 'already four'. I got to go shopping and indulge myself by perusing the Lego aisle. I have this insane love of legos and cannot wait until our kids are old enough to play with them. I asked Nate what he wanted and he told me that he couldn't tell me because you don't tell people gifts...very good Nate :) except that's if you're giving the gift. So then he said he wanted a plastic pirate ship. Well, Target does not have plastic pirate ships, or pirate anything for that matter. Remember three years ago when pirates of the carribean ruled the world and everybody sold pirate stuff? Well, not anymore, so three hours, two baby meltdowns and a desperate call to Ricky later, I came away with this:

Dude...Target with two kids is not for the faint of heart. Whoowee, won't do that again for awhile. But, it did make me excited to have four year olds. So much fun stuff!

We've also been working on a few house projects. We made drawers (and by we, I mean Ricky and Justin) for our bedroom so we can finally have a place for all our clothes. I also put together an herb garden. Hopefully I can post pics soon.

Right now we are on the plane to San Francisco to visit Hamilton and Victoria. Hamilton just got a new job and we are going up to celebrate with him and show off Little Ricky!
We have a few perks from Ricky's job and one is that we can put tons of boxes under the plane, so we loaded all of Hamilton's things up last night and brought them with us. something like 10 boxes. Those counter agents loved us...not really. Good thing we also brought cute kiddos!

Equals quality me time!

But just a little...

Growing up

Ack!! My babies are growing up! It's hitting me so much harder this time. I only have two more weeks with the little guy and Clair before I have to go back to work and I already miss them...

Clair's knees hit the end of the stroller:

And Ricky's sleeping at nightish hours now:

And, he's huge. Not fitting really well in newborn stuff anymore. Sad.

Random pics from the past few weeks now that I have my phone back

Fun in Dallas:

The little man loves his Daddy!

My attempt to get one good picture of Clair in her cute hair bow:

Ahh...Daddy to the rescue!
He even has a saintly Christmas wreath adorning his head! (I can't believe that's still up!!)

cleaning house

I'm feeling like I have a second (yes, Ricky's crying...yes, Clair is awake and running around picking little things up off my floor and sticking them in her mouth--this is my motivation to clean). I have to take my seconds where I can these days. I thought I would throw out my "Spring Cleaning" goals.

Three weeks left of maternity leave. Maternity leave always equates to 'vacation', in my mind. However, the last five weeks have been far from a vacation. They have been wonderful, exhausting, educational, surprising, busy (oh, very busy)...but not a vacation. So, in light of this, I thought I would pick one large goal a week to accomplish and put it on the blog for a little accountability.

Goal 1: weed the yard and move the rocks from the front to the back.
Goal 2: paint the upstairs hallway and hang pictures (ie. finally finish my house)
Goal 3: paint the window ledge on the front of our house and wipe down the walls in the kitchen where the swamp cooler makes them all nasty.

This week I'm also carpet cleaning all of our carpets while it rains and I can't work in the yard.
