Chicken

So we fed clair chicken tonight. She begged for it so we gave it to her and evidently she's not quite ready for all that real food yet because she did this:

And now she's taking a bath....

Tis the season!

It's two days until Christmas and we are beginning to get a wrap on things. In between wonderfully fun Christmas parties we have managed to stuff and deliver all our tenant stockings, one of my personal favorite Christmas traditions. We got all the Christmas cards out in the mail, Clair's first birthday announcements out, bought all our presents, and mostly decorated the while house...and, only one stocking to go. I made mine, Cody's and now Clairs...
However, last night we realized the one thing we hadn't done yet was take Clair to see Santa.

So, today was the big day. Ricky got Clair up and ready to go around 9:30. She had a bit of a late night at Alice and Guido's Christmas party so was still sleeping. He brought her to my office so we could all go together and my folks met us there which was awesome since we forgot the stroller and she gets heavy!

On the way in...

Waiting in line. She was super happy and little kids kept coming up to say hi to her.

And here we are! Clair kept looking back at Santa and playing with his coat and beard instead of looking at the camera. She was fascinated by her new fuzzy friend.

Stuff

Clair has learned how to walk down the steps. This is good because lately the majority of my evenings are spent walkin up the steps to pick her up and put her back in the living room over and over and over...

Tonight Cody and I met up a bunch of friends from church to go to Winterhaven. Cody is leaving for Mexico for a week tomorrow so we wanted to go tonight. Ricky and I are taking Clair on Sunday with my folks. Tonight Clair was already passed out before we took off so Rob watched her for us.

Merry Christmas from the Willams!

Ah yes, I blundered our Christmas cards this year because I'm just that awesome...and now I'm fixing them with a sharpie marker.

Book club

I started going to the book club at my church this year and have really enjoyed it. I don't often get the books read but someday I will and the discussion is great. The ladies in the book club read sooo many books. All different kinds and I get so many ideas about what to read next!
We each brought a book to give at the gift exchange tonight. I brought the gurnsey potato peel pie society (so did someone else). Evidently it's a popular book and pretty good.

Gertie helped me wrap it...oh wait, she just always feels the need to be all up in my business..

Our vp at work gave me some really cool little bikes for Clair. My folks are going to keep them until she can use them so she doesn't see them all the time.

We did pics today and Clair was so tired she didn't smile in any of them. She really wanted to sleep, like this! This was her after the picturefest.

I should put this on the Christmas card...but I won't.

Giving and shopping

Today was a Friday. The kind where I just waited all day for the weekend to start. I'm never like that but the last few weeks I feel like I've just been living for my days off.

After work, I dropped off our company's donations to Emerge's mother-child store. This is the same place we volunteered on Monday so it was so cool to realize my company was donating too!

Then, it was off to shop for a party outfit for Clair, which, to be more precise, meant I was looking for a black shirt...7 or 8 stores and all day later since my parents had been shopping since noon, we finally got a shirt. We also got a few things for a little photo shoot I want to have tomorrow to get ready for her first brthday! Woohoo!! Here comes the busiest two months of my life.

Catching up

We've been busy around here:

Ricky had his last day of classes for the semester on Tuesday so we celebrated by going out to dinner:

Clair and I have been busy trying to get the house in order before the second baby comes:

We've got some Christmas parties this weekend which will be a lovely break from the norm. I can't believe it's only 2 weeks till Christmas. We've got one gift left to buy and have been able to get a few surprises even! It's been a fun season.
Our house is so cold right now that Ricky slept in his stocking cap last night.

Volunteering

This evening our small group worked with an organization called Emerge to sort and organize gifts. The gifts are laid out like in a shop and moms and kids come in and pick out something special for one another. Then, they wrap the gifts and take them home. It's really very cool. If you're looking for a place to donate wrapping paper or a new toy/clothes, let me know!

Bye-bye

Hamilton and Victoria had mini Christmas here tonight and then left for home back in LA

And Clair had her first peanut butter and jelly sandwich...part of it is still stuck to her head. Yes, I put her to bed like that. We will worry about showers tomorrow!

Bye-bye family. We had such a great time this week!

Hello weekend of knitting.
